Annual Meeting of The Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study
April 28-30, 2011
The Center for Scandinavian Studies at North Park College welcomes your participation in the centennial celebration and 101st meeting of the Society for the Advancement of Scandinavian Study. The conference will take place in Chicago, IL, April 28-30, 2011 at the Holiday Inn Chicago Mart Plaza, located in downtown Chicago.
Contributions in the form of conference papers on topics in Scandinavian Studies are encouraged from all disciplines. Presentations are not to exceed 20 minutes in length. Papers may be proposed individually or as a part of a panel. The society would welcome papers and panels that examine aspects of the last century of Scandinavian Studies in North America. Advanced graduate students may submit paper proposals with the written support of a faculty advisor.
Paper proposals must be made in the form of a short abstract of the proposed paper. The abstract must be submitted to Charles Peterson at

Independent scholars and graduate students may be eligible for travel support in the form of a President’s Grant. Applications for support must include a brief description of proposed conference paper, a budget of expenses, and possible other sources of support.
